use your words

Five is grounded. He didn't follow through on his promise to follow the rules at day camp, and so there are consequences. In his case, he can't do anything electronic (TV, computer, gamecube/boy, Leapster, keyboard, DVD, VCR, Bop-It), and he is assigned extra jobs.
He is oddly comfortable with this arrangement. Any of the other kids would be whining out their resentment at random intervals, "NO FAIR!" "WHY DO YOU MAKE ME DO EVERYTHING?" "EVERYBODY ELSE [insert relevant offence] TOO!!!!"
Five tried for parole a couple times and then got stoic again.
About fifteen minutes into putting toys away, he remarks to the air in general (knowing I am five feet away): "I know why I ees doing this and not watching cartoons."
I wait for it.
Five, continuing his conversation with the ever-attentive air, philosophically sighs:
"Ees payback."
