today Five didn't do it
Ok, first scroll down and read the "he did it!" post, below.
That's what I did, just to re-live the victory, right after I heard the Debacle Report, that is, the story of Five's day.
It was 50s day, so he went to day camp in an approximation of a Greaser outfit and hairdo (visualize a very short Asian Fonzie in velcro strap shoes). It was the last day of the session so about 200 campers spent the better part of the day partying like it was 1954.
Well, shoot. The opportunities were just too, well, opportune. And Five's not the boy to pass them up. So, to make a long story short, there wasn't an unbroken rule in sight by the time 4 pm rolled around.
So Five stoically ate his peanut butter sandwich while the other kids got their Burger King reward for being good all week and was really quite philosophical about it.
Later, he very diligently helped with picking up and putting away many toys almost altruistically. Almost. He didn't look all that surprised when I told him that since he'd been so helpful he could watch a little Sponge Bob before bed.
"Thanks Mom!" he said and added as he scampered off to enjoy the calculated fruits of his labors, "And tomowwow is anudder day, ya know."
Word.
