Happy Birthday, Three!!!!
Today is Three's birthday. She is 11. She's been home for 2 years now, and I can't believe it's only been that long. I can't imagine our lives without her. I rely on her for huge sweet smiles, extra help when I need it, and silliness beyond measure.
She's funny, sweet, helpful, empathetic, and has huge feet.
She's vulnerable, easily hurt, mean to her little brothers when she's in a mood, and very very stubborn.
She remembers her life in Haiti. She doesn't share that with me (yet).
She is fearless, athletically and artistically gifted, and a good friend.
She loves ladybugs, bright colors (especially orange), and the cake she picked out is red and yellow, decorated with some ladybugs, daisies, and a big pair of orange sunglasses.
She has a beautiful face, enormous intellligence, and still loves dolls (baby, girl, and Barbie dolls--upon the latter of which she works incredibly complex braided hairdos).
Today she's getting the first gift she has actually admitted to really wanting--an American Girl doll (Elizabeth), and Chinese food is what she's chosen for her birthday dinner. And tomorrow she gets to take her best friend forever to a movie of their choosing (Ice Age 2--they are part adolescent, part little girl at their ages).
Happy birthday to my wonderful daughter!
