elbows and knees
From somewhere in the moving pile of elbows and knees that engulf me with early morning cries of "Happy Mother's Day," Six's voice emerges: "Mom, MOM!" (When he's in a good mood, I am rarely just "Mom" or even "Mom!")
Me: "What, honey?"
Six: "Mom, MOM! I gonna buy you ANNNNNYting you want for Muvversday. I make you happy!"
Me: "Yes you do, and my sweet kids are all I want for Mother's Day. I am happy. You make me happy."
Six (after mulling over this odd lack of desire for, say, a new Batman): "Mom, MOM! If you didn't never have kids I would go everywhere and get you lots and lots of kids for you to be happy!"
Great minds move alike. That's exactly what I did.
